A little throwback on Batik Day! 🧵 We had the opportunity to create some videos for 𝐊𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐙𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐚: 𝐕𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐉𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐚𝐧𝐬-𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐚𝐦𝐬, including this one about batik. On National Batik Day, let’s remember that batik is more than something we wear. It carries stories, identity, heritage, and connects us to where we come from. 📍 BatikSuriname - Vhji Sana Budaya If you haven’t visited yet, Kampong Villa Zapakara is still open until next year, so go experience it! It’s here. Trailer - 𝗛𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗷 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘁 What started as an idea, a personal story, a feeling, a concern, has grown into gratefulness, belonging, pride, and hope. Ibu-ibuku, bapak-bapakku, I hope you are proud of us. Thank you for giving us a voice. We will continue to use it by sharing the culture in our own way, with pride. This is for the identity seekers, I hope it inspires you🫶🏻 “Weten waar je vandaan komt, geeft richting aan waar je heen gaat.”
